The Royal Crescent

bath, united kingdom

A landmark in historic Bath, the Royal Crescent is truly emblematic of the splendour and elegance of the city. But beyond the iconic façade, this exquisite hotel offers a warm and deeply personalised experience.

The Royal Crescent was designed by English architect John Wood the Younger and constructed in the Palladian style, incorporating 30 terraced houses laid out in a sweeping crescent shape. This famed terrace is one of the greatest examples of Georgian architecture in the UK – and our magnificent hotel sits at its very centre.

This historic building has had many lives, however, in 1950, it was transformed into a guesthouse, before a beautiful restoration in 1978, which returned the hotel’s interiors to their former glory. Soon after, the grounds were expanded and adjoining buildings incorporated.  The resultant 45 rooms and suites are charming, each with an individuality and personality that enchants every guest. Natural light, palatial space and total comfort for the ultimate Bath experience.

Nourish mind, body and spirit in the softly lit spa, where natural stone and rustic wood, and arched windows offer soul-renewing views of the gardens. With a 12 metre heated relaxation pool , vitality pool with massage jets, sauna, steam room, gym, guests are able to recharge after a day out exploring the city.

The outstanding spa is also there for guests, providing an extensive range of services. From restorative massages, to reviving facials and much more, the spa has a well trained team of professional therapists at the ready.

Guests are welcome to dine at Montagu's Mews on fresh, local ingredients, surrounded by inspired style and flawless service.
